Yes. Dictation, meetings, Ask and playbooks run on your device’s own models, so there’s nothing for us to meter: no word limits, no meeting quota and no cutoff on your history. Free works on each device you sign in on, your Macs and the iPhone app, with everything kept on that device and no sync. It needs a free WhisprNotes account, but never a card. The one exception is the clinician pack, which is priced on its own.

Yes, a free one, made in the app with your email address. It’s how we know which plan you’re on and, with Pro, how your notes reach your other devices.

Everything that uses our servers: your notes and meetings kept in sync across your Mac and iPhone (up to 10 devices) and backed up, and share links, a read-only copy of a note on the web for anyone you send it to. It’s $15 a month, or $144 a year. Pro opens soon. Join the beta list to hear when it does. Dictation, transcription and AI still run on your device.

Never your audio: on every plan, speech recognition and the AI run on your device. The app downloads its speech models once (and, if you choose them, the WhisprNotes AI models), signs you in, and sends usage counts with no content in them. On Free, that’s all. With Pro, the text of your notes and meetings syncs through our servers, where it’s stored encrypted at rest, and a note you share with a link is stored until you turn the link off. With Pro, anonymized synced text may help improve WhisprNotes unless you turn it off (off by default in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, and where we can’t tell). Never audio, voiceprints, clinical notes or notes you mark Private.

No, and we’d rather say so plainly. Synced data is encrypted in transit and at rest on our servers, with keys we manage. That’s what lets us restore your notes if you lose a device or can’t sign in. Audio is never synced, and clinical notes never sync.

Yes. Once you’re signed in and the speech models are downloaded, dictation, meetings, Ask and playbooks all work with no connection, on a plane or on a network that never reaches the internet. Pro catches up when you’re back online.

On the Mac, no. WhisprNotes uses Apple Intelligence when your Mac has it, and otherwise a WhisprNotes model you download once in Settings › Models (it works on any Apple silicon Mac), or Ollama or LM Studio running on your Mac. WhisprNotes needs a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 26 or later. On iPhone, AI notes and Ask need Apple Intelligence; the iPhone app needs iOS 26, and without Apple Intelligence its notes keep the transcript.

It’s part of the Mac app, whose beta opens soon: clinical templates, the consent gate, review with sources, ICD-10-CM suggestions, sign-off and Paste into EHR. It’s priced per clinician, the one part of WhisprNotes priced on its own, and its price will be on this page before you could be charged for it; write to us and we’ll set your practice up. Audio, transcripts and clinical notes stay on each clinician’s Mac and never sync, even with Pro, and are never used to improve WhisprNotes.

It’s planned but not built yet. Today that’s Team: shared folders, voice messages to teammates, and one admin and bill, plus everything in Pro once it ships for teams. Write to us and we’ll tell you when it’s ready; its price may change before then.
